The First

So, I created my Blog page well over 6 months ago......and it seemed like perhaps it's fermented long enough and it was time to do something with it. The question still remains though, what the hell do I do with it?!? I decided that I probably need to restrict my musings to no more than a few different subject areas, otherwise the whiplash experienced by someone keeping up with a political rant one day and then trying to figure out the connection to some obscure discussion about a baseball game the next day may be a bit too much to take. So, what are these self-imposed restriction? I decided I would go with my primary hobbies and interests which I can probably boil down to less than 10 subjects, which are, in no particular order:

  1. Postcards: I really enjoy the mixture of history, life, stories, and the sleuthing it takes to find postcards and figure out what you have.

  2. Cars: I have owned a few fantastic cars, driven a few more, drooled over many many more. While like most people I can only afford one fairly practical inexpensive car, the opportunities to enjoy cars through others is immense and includes car shows, working with others on their cars, internet resources, etc. So, that's what I enjoy and perhaps can share a bit of.

  3. Video Games: Truly enjoy this topic, but would defer to the ever-enjoyable MadPlanet to cover this category (http://madplanetsgameroom.blogspot.com/) . I will though, cover the preparation of my MAME cabinet which will begin in the very near future!

  4. Travel: Traveling is a rarer occurrence then I would like (hey, I work 50 weeks a year), but I enjoy planning and thinking about vacations and coming up with great travel ideas.

  5. Music: Playing music, listening to music, and listening to live music. I spend a good deal of time (and money) on this category and maybe a few concert reviews, CD (dating myself a bit here by not saying MP3s....hey perhaps a first post idea) reviews, and a couple of cool guitar or harmonica posts may just crop up.

  6. Home Brewing: Making your own beer is a very rewarding experience. While it can be difficult to do this really well, it's not too difficult to do this pretty well and of course enjoying the results is (almost) never a bad thing.

  7. History: I definitely enjoy history and it's weaved into many other interests like postcards, traveling, etc. I still really don't know how this can be pulled into an even slightly interesting post, but it's an important enough passion of mine that it's worth giving it a shot.

There we go, it all easily fits into a top ten list with room to grow! I suppose the first seven posts would appropriately cover each of the topics and then I'll see where it goes from there as I begin randomly hitting on whatever sounds good at the time.

I will optimistically think someone, somewhere reads this, and if so then leave me a comment and let me know if there something about one of these topics you'd be interested in reading more about.
